Showing Up Locally with GBP

Get found by local customers and build trust with your online presence.

Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is one of the most powerful tools for local service providers. When someone searches for your services nearby, your GBP is often the first thing they see, so let’s make sure it’s connected and working for you.

In this guide, you’ll:

  • Connect your existing GBP to your Better Story system
  • Post updates directly to GBP to boost visibility and engagement

These steps make it easier for customers to find you, trust you, and reach out.

Connect Your Google Business Profile

Before you can manage your GBP from your dashboard, you need to link it.

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations in your dashboard.
  2. Click “Connect Google Account” and sign in with the account that manages your GBP.
  3. Choose the correct business location from the list and confirm the connection.

Once connected:

  • You can post directly from your system
  • Your contact info stays in sync
  • You can track GBP engagement inside your dashboard

📌 Note: If you don’t have a GBP yet, go to google.com/business to create one first. Google may ask to verify your business by mail or phone.

Keep your profile fresh and active by posting updates. Google loves active businesses.

  1. Go to Marketing → Google Posts or Social Planner depending on your setup.
  2. Choose “Create New Post.”
  3. Add:
    • A photo or graphic (before/after, promo, or happy customer)
    • A short caption (what’s new, what you’re offering)
    • A link to your booking page or lead generator
  4. Schedule or publish your post.

🗓️ Posting 1–2 times per week helps your business show up more often in local searches.

💡 Pro Tip: Repurpose your social media posts here too. It saves time and keeps things consistent.
