A solo massage practice has a hard capacity ceiling. There are only so many hours, and every one you do not fill is gone.
That changes the advertising question. You are not trying to generate unlimited demand. You are trying to fill specific hours and keep the people you already see.
"Massage near me" and "prenatal massage [city]" return a local map. Being in it is the most valuable free thing available.
Complete profile, correct categories, your modalities, real photos of the space, current hours, and a steady flow of reviews. Enable booking directly from the profile if your system supports it.

Chiropractors, physical therapists, personal trainers, doulas, counselors and estheticians all see people who would benefit from massage.
These relationships are simple to build and durable. A short introduction, clarity about your modalities and who you work well with, and reliability when someone is sent.
For prenatal work, doulas and midwives are the strongest single source.
Your current clients are your best channel and most will never think to refer unless prompted.
Ask specifically rather than generally, and give them something to hand over. A card at the end of a session works better than a request weeks later.
Neighborhood and interest groups produce real bookings, particularly for specialized work. People ask for massage recommendations frequently.
Be present rather than promotional. The recommendations follow.
Gift certificates are underused as marketing. Every one is a stranger arriving pre-paid, and a proportion become regulars.
Make them easy to buy online without contacting you, and promote them ahead of the obvious gifting periods.
Search ads can work for specific modalities, such as prenatal or sports massage, where intent is high and competition thinner than general terms.
Test small, aimed at one modality, and only once your profile, booking and rebooking are working. Filling a schedule you cannot retain is expensive.
Google Business Profile, practitioner referrals, your existing clients, community presence, and gift certificates.
Paid advertising last, aimed at a specific modality.
