A solo practice has a hard capacity ceiling, which changes the question. You are not trying to generate unlimited demand, you are trying to fill specific hours and keep the people you already see.
- Google Business Profile. The main discovery channel. Searches for massage near me, or a specific modality in a city, return a local map. Complete profile, modalities listed, real photos of the space, current hours, steady reviews, and booking enabled if your system supports it.
- Referrals from other practitioners. Chiropractors, physical therapists, personal trainers, doulas, counselors and estheticians all see people who would benefit. These relationships are simple to build and durable. For prenatal work, doulas and midwives are the strongest single source.
- Existing clients, asked properly. Ask specifically and give them a card at the end of a session rather than a request weeks later.
- Local community groups, where people ask for recommendations frequently, particularly for specialized work.
- Gift certificates. Each one is a pre-paid stranger, and a share become regulars.
Paid advertising comes last, and only for a specific modality.
